3 Takeaways from Medicarians as a First Timer

YMS Medicarians Blog Header medicarians-2025-takeaways

Medicarians 2025 was an experience unlike any other.

Among the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip with majestic mountains serving as the week’s backdrop, thousands of professionals from across the healthcare industry descended upon the Caesar’s Forum at the end of March.

The goal?

Connect with and learn from some of the leading product creators, care providers, distributors, agents, brokers, and startups in the country.

Whether you’re an industry veteran or just getting your insurance career started, Medicarians is a can’t-miss annual event. This year’s conference was my first, and it certainly won’t be my last.

Here are my three biggest Medicarians 2025 takeaways from one of the largest Medicare conferences in the United States:

  • What Happens in Vegas… Ends Up in My Notes

While there’s plenty to enjoy at Medicarians, there’s only one real reason we all go… To learn!

And I had a lot to learn.

While I’m not new to marketing, I am new to the healthcare industry. Truthfully, I didn’t know what to expect from a Medicare conference. Most people spend their entire professional lives learning the ins and outs of healthcare. Would I belong?

Yes, I did… without a doubt.

  • Medicarians serves professionals from all walks of life at any stage of their career.
  • Looking to grow your business with annuity and life sales? There’s a session for that.
  • Wondering how to better work with industry regulators? There’s a session for that.

Can’t figure out how to get started with AI? Yup, there’s a session for that, too.

Each session was led by knowledgeable industry professionals and engaging panelists offering insights and strategies you can apply once you’re back at your desk.

Medicarians is the kind of environment where curiosity is rewarded, questions are welcomed, and everyone leaves just a little bit smarter.

  • Making the Right Bets – and Even Better Connections

If you arrived in Vegas as a brand-new insurance agent – no teammates, no upline, no book of business – you could’ve left with an FMO lined up, a planned-out product line, and a roadmap to start building your business from the ground up.

But none of that would be possible without shaking some hands, first.

I attended as a sponsor with YourMarketingSupport, so my perspective was from behind the booth. Getting to share my passion for marketing while empowering others to succeed made the experience deeply rewarding.

As attendees navigated the various speaker tracks – covering everything from ACA to marketing to Medicare Supplements – the expo hall buzzed with energy, packed wall-to-wall with booths offering demos, resources and one-on-one conversations at every turn.

If you weren’t speaking with one of the many carriers, sponsors, FMOs, agency owners or startups, you could venture off into the puppy zone (not surprisingly, this was a hit), take a professional headshot, or grab an ice-cold beverage as you network.

There was even a realistic driving simulator, catering to the inner NASCAR driver inside all of us!

For three action-packed days, everything you needed to build, sustain, or scale your business was under one roof – plus plenty of fun along the way. And to cap it all off, hip hop superstar Flo Rida brought the energy with an exclusive concert just for more than 4,400 attendees.

So, while there were no guarantees you’d hit a jackpot on the slots, making meaningful connections felt like a sure thing.

  • Going All in on What’s Next

If there’s one thing Medicarians made clear, it’s that the future isn’t waiting on anyone.

In fact, the future is already here.

The emergence of AI is challenging us all to become more efficient and more intelligent. Those who do not embrace it are in danger of being left behind.

But it’s not just AI.

The social media landscape continues to evolve. Algorithms are constantly updating. And as a result, user behaviors change, too.

New technologies are impacting the way people interact with businesses. That means marketing strategies need to adapt, sometimes on a dime.

Tech isn’t the only factor keeping the industry on its toes, either.

Trying to keep up with new rules and regulations can feel just as daunting as spending an 8-hour day door-knocking in 90-degree heat.

With so much constantly changing in our world today, it’s essential we grasp as much as we can to stay ahead of the curve.

That’s why Medicarians proved to be a jackpot.

Whether you’re a marketer, agent, or founder, Medicarians isn’t just a chance to network — it’s an opportunity to level up. I left with new ideas, real connections, and a deeper confidence in what’s next.
